Nikki Teeuw

Based in Melbourne, Australia, I am a screenwriter, novelist and short film director/producer driven to bring stories to life via multiple forms.

I love finding the heart of a story, both visually and emotionally, and I'm not afraid to tackle tough subjects. I write mostly female-led stories. I love a tale that keeps me guessing and I love stories that take me somewhere unexpected.

My first short, The Tsunami, was my directorial debut and was based on my prose of the same name, touching on the violence against women crisis.

I have written two features, a psychological drama (and recent BlueCat Screenplay 2026 Quarterfinalist) written for an adult audience, and a children's family fantasy that I'm currently redrafting. And I have a family drama screenplay in its early days.

I have a psychological thriller novel I am preparing for publishing, and I have an independently released book of prose available on the BOOKS page of this site.

I have completed creative writing and 'Write Your Novel' courses with The Australian Writers' Centre. And I have studied screenwriting and directing with AFTRS (Australian Film Television and Radio School).

And I was recently accepted into Nicky Weinstock's 'Craft Services'. A group of fortunate writers selected for mentorship and guidance. A welcome opportunity to further hone my craft.
