About Nikki Teeuw

Based in Melbourne, I am a screenwriter and short film director passionate about storytelling and bringing unique narratives to life through film. I'm not afraid to touch on tough subjects but I also love finding the heart of a story, both visually and emotionally. I'm dedicated to female-led stories and engaging the audience. I love a film that keeps me guessing and I love films that touch the soul. My first short film, The Tsunami, was my directorial debut and was based on my prose of the same name, touching on the violence against women crisis. I have written two features that are in early conversations with executives—a psychological drama aimed for an adult audience, and a children's family fantasy.

And I was recently accepted into Nicky Weinstock's 'Craft Services'. A group of fortunate writers selected for mentorship and guidance. A welcome opportunity to further hone my craft.
